It’s been a busy few weeks on the farm!

At the start of June we started mowing ready for silaging to start. Making silage means we have food over the winter for our cows. During the winter months the cows don’t go out into the fields because it’s so cold and wet.

We’ve had lots of calves born over the last month, so it’s very busy in the calf shed at the moment! Lightning, one of our favourite cows, is due to calve any day!

The majority of our cows are part of pedigree families and this passes onto their calves. Some of the family names include Monica, Katy, Bernadette, Bloom, Elle-Beth & lots more! Calves always take their mothers family names and this stays with them for life and passes onto their
